“Trip was well organised. Guide (Jill) excellent and all 3 Cities well worth a visit. Our only criticism would be the reserving of seats on the flights. Good holiday.

“I thought the tour manager was just right for the group. The staff in the hotel in Bergen were cold and unwelcoming. Apparently Rail Discoveries office booked the group on a train from Flam to Myrdal when it should have been the reverse direction, and although we did eventually arrive in Flam, we had very little time there, which was disappointing. The arrival at Oslo airport was very long drawn out, and it would have been easier if our instructions about where to wait after we had collected our luggage, had been more precise. Not seeing any bags with Rail Discovery labels, I assumed (wrongly) that the rest of the group had gone through the final barrier and were waiting outside. It was a worrying three quarters of an hour for me.

“The trip went well and I thoroughly enjoyed it but my concerns about the flight timings were ignored and that left a bitter taste. I lost my luggage, had to run for a connection, last on the flight, then had to wait 5 hrs on the return journey. There should have been direct flights. I’m aggrieved that they didn’t even offer to pay for my train fare between airport and the city as this had already been offered to another late guest, who also had to make their own travel arrangements on arrival. A small amount but it was the principal, penny-pinching and lack of goodwill. At least KLM paid for my essential purchases whilst my bag was delayed, but would not pay the train fare.

“Great trip, loved the huskies trip could do with that part being longer as it went too fast! Entrance to the Arctic Cathedral in Tromso should be included in the city tour as, having seen it before, the group missed out. A bit more choice upfront for the included set meals would have been appreciated. Tips on capturing the Northern Lights on other than an iPhone camera would be good as normal digital cameras and smartphones did not capture anything.
