One of the best ways to see the rumbling power of Mount Etna, the narrow-gauge Circumetnea Train follows a route encircling this awesome stratovolcano, stopping along the way at some quaint stations. It begins at Catania, on the coast, before heading inland on a semi-circuitous route which brings you back round to the shoreline and the harbour town of Riposto.
