The Outer Hebrides & The Highlands
“The holiday was memorable, mostly for the lovely scenery and the friendly travelling companions. Our tour manger was very welcoming and helpful.
The train ride from Fort William to Mallaig was wonderful. A very photogenic journey.
While on Lewis we had an excellent tour guide who was very knowledgeable and made the trip very enjoyable with lots to see and take in.
The only down side was some of the hotels. The Maldon Hotel served us a very poor meal on our first night. It was more than obvious that they were catering for a tour party. The Moxy on our last day was also a bit of a disappointment. They didn’t do proper meals. Breakfast was poor. You couldn’t call any of it Continental or Full English.
In Oban, we couldn’t understand why we didn’t get a meal on the Friday night. On our last night we understood that the Moxy didn’t do full catering, but we did get a lovely meal at the neighbouring Loudins.
All in all a lovely holiday.
