Great Rail Journeys Ltd is a direct marketing business which uses state of the art direct marketing, web, CRM and trading systems, developed and built in-house, to deliver sustained and controlled growth across three core brands.  Members of the marketing team have a range of skills across marketing planning & strategy, brand development, acquisition and retention, ecommerce, DM, creative, copywriting, digital and data.  This is a fast paced, analytical and forward looking environment where our team members are expected to challenge the status quo, come up with new ideas and deliver to tight deadlines.

New Customer Acquisition Team

The New Customer Acquisition team are data driven and channel agnostic. Their responsibility is to deliver optimum returns from an annual UK advertising spend exceeding £4.5m.  Working with external media, creative and data agencies the team work across all direct response advertising channels.  Planning, innovation and analytics are the core components here as well as an ability to work to deadlines under pressure.

Customer Retention (Direct Marketing) Team

Working with large databases the Customer Retention team are responsible for setting out executing an annual marketing plan and contact strategy for each brand within the business.  The team draw on a range of skills including campaign planning, brand management, direct marketing, data planning and analytics, research and email marketing in order to extract maximum value from our databases.   

Ecommerce Team

An award winning team which are critical to the success of the business.  The ecommerce team are responsible for traffic generation, conversion and retention over three core websites in the UK and overseas.  Controlling all areas of digital, the team are experts in their respective fields and manage PPC, SEO, UX, onsite conversion and most aspects of development in house with the expertise of external agencies in support.  Effective, committed and energised, the team lead the way in retailing escorted tours online.

Design Studio & Content Team

The Design Studio is made up of designers and art workers who lead the creative in the business, creating all of our direct marketing material and holiday brochures as well evolving brand creative, internal branding, evolving our print advertising and creating video & photography. 

Our content team is made up of skilled copywriters who produce all content for online and offline use, including brochure copy, advertising copy and running our online blog The Discovery.
