Day 1 - To Nice
We depart St Pancras International by Eurostar to Paris. We cross the city by coach, and board the high-speed TGV service southwards through France to Nice. We stay here for six nights at the centrally located 3* Boréal Hotel.
Day 2 - Discovering Nice
This morning we have a guided walking tour of Nice, during which we take in the city's key sights. Following the tour, your afternoon is free for you to continue exploring at your own pace. Nice is a joy to discover, characterised by its pretty pastel-coloured buildings and terracotta roofs. You may wish to explore the Old Town, a delightful jumble of narrow alleyways, twisting lanes and small squares. Alternatively, you may choose to travel further afield and visit some of the picturesque villages along the coastline.
Day 3 - Antibes and Cannes
This morning we take a train to Antibes. Here you have time to discover the pretty harbour, bustling marketplace and also the fascinating Château Grimaldi, an impressive fortress which houses some of Picasso's most vivid works. This afternoon we continue by rail to Cannes, the stylish resort famed for its annual film festival. After time to relax, stroll along the beach, or watch the world go by in a seafront café, we return to Nice and enjoy dinner together in a local restaurant.
Day 4 - At leisure
Today is free for you to explore Nice. The city boasts many attractions, such as its Russian cathedral and the port area. Perhaps take a stroll along the Promenade des Anglais and enjoy the marvellous views of the glittering Mediterranean Sea.
Day 5 - Villefranche-sur-Mer
Today we travel by rail to pretty Villefranche-sur-Mer, with a full day to explore. Take a stroll through the winding streets around the harbour, or have a paddle in the warm waters of the bay. Perhaps have lunch in one of the pavement cafés overlooking the tranquil water, before exploring the Old Town. Otherwise, follow the sloping terraced hill up to the fort of Mont Alban which looks out over the red roofs below.
Days 6 - Monaco
We enjoy a trip by rail along the spectacular coastline to the tiny principality of Monaco. Here we benefit from a guided walking tour to help us uncover the history and culture of Monaco. We discover the historic Old Town, the impressive Cathedral and the splendid Place du Palais. Tonight we enjoy our farewell dinner together in Nice.
Day 7 - Nice to London
Today we leave Nice and make the journey back to Paris by TGV. We then continue by Eurostar to St Pancras International in London.

Journey to the French Riviera by Train
You may want to amble along the harbour or sample local fresh produce at the bustling markets of Antibes. If you would prefer to browse through stylish shops or admire the lifestyles of the rich and famous, you might like to visit the fashionable and cosmopolitan town of Cannes, which is famed for its annual film festival. You can also take a scenic train journey along the spectacular shores to Monaco and walk around the winding streets which play host to the Formula One Grand Prix. The splendid cathedral and impressive Place du Palais are must-see landmarks or you may want to pass by the famous Monte Carlo Casino when you visit the French Riviera by train.
