Italian Engineering Works

In August 2023, an unforeseen landslide significantly impacted the rail connection between France and Italy, leading to disruptions across the scenic Maurienne Valley. Initially, we expected a quick recovery; however, the extensive damage means that Italian engineering works will likely continue until Summer 2024.

• Day 1 - London to Stuttgart Travelling on the Eurostar from London St Pancras this morning, we arrive at Paris Nord before making the short walk to Paris Est station. From here, we continue by rail to the handsome city of Stuttgart, where we spend our first night.
• Day 2 - Through the Alps to Garda This morning, we continue our journey by rail to Verona via Munich, where the train weaves through the magnificent Brenner Pass. Arriving late afternoon at Verona, we journey by coach to Garda, where we check in to our hotel.
• Days 3 - 8 Itinerary unchanged
• Day 9 - Garda to Strasbourg We depart Garda today to begin our journey home. Travelling by coach to Milan, we join the train to Strasbourg via Switzerland. Upon checking in to our hotel, we enjoy our final evening meal together.
• Day 10 - Strasbourg to London After a leisurely morning, we board the train to Paris Gare de Lyon. On arrival, we transfer to Gare du Nord, where we join the Eurostar service to London St Pancras.

• Day 1 - London to Chambery Travelling on the Eurostar service from London St Pancras this morning, we arrive at Paris Nord before transferring by coach to Paris Gare De Lyon. From here, we continue by rail to Chambery. On arrival, we check in to the hotel, with some free time to explore before dinner this evening.
• Day 2 - Through the Alps to Montecatini Terme This morning, we continue our journey by coach to Turin. Hugging the train route through the magnificent Alps, the journey through the vistas will take around 3 hours, including a comfort break around halfway through. On arrival in Turin, we join the train to Montecatini Terme.
• The remainder of your tour remains unchanged
