“I enjoy train travel and I had never visited Budapest or Vienna and I am so glad I joined this trip. There were 26 of us of varying ages and not all couples and John, our guide travelled with us all the way from Heathrow. He was excellent. He had the relaxed outlook of someone who was very experienced. He knew the cities well and helped us to feel confident. He had prepared excellent booklets for every city with everything we needed to know; transport, exchage rates, things to do, etc. and when I wanted to go off the beaten track in Vienna, it turned out that he had prepared a booklet which included that excursion too. He was fun and interesting and very generous with his time. Hotels were good, the people in the group were lovely and trains came on time. A thoroughly good trip.

“One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The trip itself is well thought out and there's plenty to do on days off. Sarlat was a great base as it has a brilliant cinema and a train station as well as lots of shops & plenty of places to eat and drink. Some have mentioned the long journey but surely if you go on a rail holiday this is to be expected. Anyhow, it's all part of the holiday and there are some beautiful things to be seen en route (I spotted a herd of around 6 wild deer for example). Special mention to our Tour Manager Ashley and Coach Driver William who were both superb. A wonderful experience in a beautiful part of the world and I'd highly recommend

“I had a great holiday with Rail Discoveries. The food at the hotel was wonderful. Our tour manager, Angie, was very friendly and efficient. The journey up to Jungfraujoch was exciting and spectacular.. I enjoyed the train ride to Lucerne, and the boat trip to Brienz. There was enough free time to have a reunion with my cousin in Interlaken, a walk in Lauterbrunnen, and a look round Wengen.

“Well presented and knowledgeable guide's. Hotel in fort William could do with some TLC but the two others were great.
