“What a holiday!!! Well organised from the moment we booked it. We had a fantastic Tour Manager (Angie Bradley), who kept us upto date with events, actilities and general info. Organised everything from the moment we departed St Pancras and kept on top of it but without making us feel like we were on a school trip! Accessing Eurostar from the moment we started the trip was straight forward and as you have allocated seats there weren't any issues in getting on board and relaxing... A short walk between Gare du Nord and Gare De L'Est was ok and easy to do as we all kept together as a group. We arrived at Strasbourg and the Ibis hotel is approx 200 m outside the station across the plaza and was very good. The meal on the first evening at the resturant next door was great and it gave people time to start to get to know each other and chat etc Breakfast the following morning was excellent with lots of choice and plenty of it and then we had some free time to explore the city centre. Arriving at Wilderswil we were met by the hotel staff and they collected the cases from the platform .We did a short walk to the hotel (it's about 500m from the train station) in the snow... Hotel Alpenblick is traditionally Swiss. Wood everywhere, with a homely feel and was absolutley pristine. Our room was large and well laid out and as we had decided to upgrade when we booked it we were given the choice of either a shower or a bath (we chose the shower option) Obviously there was an an additional cost for this and we felt it was worth it. The owners and the staff at the Hotel were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. The food....? well the food was amazing. Breakfast was 10 different types of bread, yougurts, museli (of multiple varities), cheeses, hams, eggs and more... Packed lunches each day gave us sufficient sustinance to see us through from breakfast to evening dinner. The evening meal constisted of 6 courses with a proportional amount so that you did not feel stuffed. Wine, Beer and soft drinks were all included between 1900-2100 All the trains were prebooked and we were given the relevant documents to allow us to take trips at our leisure if you wanted to do something different to what was organised. (Within Switzerland we had a Swiss Rail Half Price card and it is imperitive that you carry your passport or identity card with you as the rail conductors are hot on and will ask you to prove that you are the person who has been allocated the discount) The seating arrangements on board the trains was well organised with the tour being allocated a carriage (or a section of a carriage) on all but the very small local trains between Interlaken & Wilderswil. Although there were organised visits (Interlaken, Luzern, Grindelwald, Brienz etc) there was plenty of free time once you were there plus you had the flexibilty to return to Wilderswil at your leisure. (the Swiss trains are so punctual and are very easy to access) Jungfraujoch was amazing. We had fantastic weather on the day. Glorious sunshine and a light wind was just right!! This was a holiday that was had been perfectly prepared and executed from the getgo. Was it worth it? Would we go with GRJ again?? Absolutely! Highly recommended!!!

“I enjoy train travel and I had never visited Budapest or Vienna and I am so glad I joined this trip. There were 26 of us of varying ages and not all couples and John, our guide travelled with us all the way from Heathrow. He was excellent. He had the relaxed outlook of someone who was very experienced. He knew the cities well and helped us to feel confident. He had prepared excellent booklets for every city with everything we needed to know; transport, exchage rates, things to do, etc. and when I wanted to go off the beaten track in Vienna, it turned out that he had prepared a booklet which included that excursion too. He was fun and interesting and very generous with his time. Hotels were good, the people in the group were lovely and trains came on time. A thoroughly good trip.

“One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The trip itself is well thought out and there's plenty to do on days off. Sarlat was a great base as it has a brilliant cinema and a train station as well as lots of shops & plenty of places to eat and drink. Some have mentioned the long journey but surely if you go on a rail holiday this is to be expected. Anyhow, it's all part of the holiday and there are some beautiful things to be seen en route (I spotted a herd of around 6 wild deer for example). Special mention to our Tour Manager Ashley and Coach Driver William who were both superb. A wonderful experience in a beautiful part of the world and I'd highly recommend
