Arrive at your hotel to meet your Tour Manager. Once settled in, you are perfectly located to explore Bournemouth's long sandy beaches or take a stroll down the pier, which offers fantastic views of the bay.
This morning, travel to Corfe Castle, a village dating back to the pre-historic era. Explore the remains of its 1000-year-old castle, or venture to the model village which shows the castle and village as it would have been in the 17th century. Later, take a ride on the heritage Swanage Railway to Swanage, a small seaside town located at the eastern end of the Jurassic coast. Here you have free time to explore the town - perhaps take a stroll down the Grade II listed pier.
Take a tour of the Winchester Cathedral today. The cathedral, one of the largest in Europe, was founded in the 11th century, before being modified over the next 5 centuries. In the afternoon, take a journey on the Mid Hants Railway, better known as the 'Watercress Line'. This steam locomotive takes you on a round trip through the fantastic scenery between Winchester and Alton.
Enjoy a sightseeing tour, by coach and on foot, of the beautiful Jurassic coastline. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage site, the landscapes of the Jurassic Coast showcase a number of incredible geological wonders, some of them millions of years old. Travel along the coast to West Bay, stopping en route at viewing points, including Lulworth Cove, to admire the stunning scenery. At West Bay, you have free time to explore the harbour and promenade, before returning to Bournemouth via the historic market town of Dorchester.
After breakfast, you are free to depart at your leisure. Before you head home, perhaps discover more of the 95-mile stretch of the Jurassic Coast.
On many of our UK & Ireland tours, you may check in at the first hotel on your itinerary anytime after 14:00; your Tour Manager will be available between 16:00 and 18:00. However, if you are arriving later, you can meet your Tour Manager before dinner from 19:00.
