Itinerary

Day 1 - London & Oslo

Your Nordic adventure begins today, where you fly from London Heathrow to Oslo. On arrival, you connect with the rail service into the centre of Oslo, before transferring to your hotel for the next two nights.

Oslo Opera House
Day 2 - Oslo

Discover elegant Oslo on a guided city tour this morning. Exploring the city on foot, your tour takes in some of Oslo's most important and popular sights, including the new State Opera House, the Royal Palace, the National Theatre and medieval Akershus fortress.

Afterwards, you then enjoy entrance to the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo. Here, you see the world's best preserved Viking ships, which were once used by Vikings on the ocean before they were used in burial rituals. Have the chance to explore the craftsmanship from everyday items to religious artefacts. Whilst here, perhaps immerse yourself in the Viking Age with visual journey 'Viking Alive' - a short film that is projected onto the walls and ceilings of the museum.

For the rest of the afternoon, and this evening, you are at leisure. Perhaps visit one of the many museums and art galleries in the town? The Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art is a wonder to behold both inside and out, with an architecturally pleasing exterior that mixes the modernity of the times with traditional wooden houses one would associate with Scandinavia.

Includes
  • Breakfast
Oslo Palace
Day 3 - Stockholm

After a leisurely morning, take a short walk to Oslo station. Here, you board a train to the Swedish capital of Stockholm, enjoying the stunning Scandinavian landscapes on a journey that traverses dense, verdant forests and sparkling lakes. You arrive in Stockholm, your home for the next 3 nights. On arrival, check into your hotel, before an afternoon at leisure. Perhaps wander the streets lined with their colourful array of houses, or enjoy a spot of lunch in a local restaurant.

Includes
  • Breakfast, Dinner
Stockholm Old Town
Day 4 - Exploring Stockholm

Today is spent exploring Stockholm. This morning, meet for a guided walking tour, visiting some of Stockholm's most famous sights. These include 'Gamla Stan', or the 'Old Town', which boasts the title of one of the best preserved medieval centres in Europe, and the Royal Palace, which was home to the monarchs of Sweden for nearly 250 years.

After the tour, enjoy a cruise around Stockholm archipelago. This boat trip is the perfect way to see the city's vast collection of varied bridges, connecting the different islands. After the cruise, head to a café to enjoy the Swedish tradition of 'Fika' which often translates to 'coffee and cake'; however, this is more of a concept about a state of mind and very much embedded into Swedish culture. 'Fika' refers to making time for your family and friends, or colleagues and socialising over a piece of cake and a hot beverage.

The rest of your day is at leisure to explore on your own. This evening, you transfer back to your hotel.

Includes
  • Breakfast
Old Town, Stockholm

You also visit the statue of the Little Mermaid, one of the most famous characters from Danish author Hans Christian Anderson's fairy tales.

I paid a 30% single supplement as a lone traveller occupying a double room, in Stockholm I was given in a single room and in Copenhagen a single room which was supposed to be a double, but not by any means feasible. I paid for something I did not get. I have written to your CEO about this.
