Meet today at London St Pancras, where you and your group board the Eurostar to Paris, continuing on to Lausanne and Aigle, before coming to a stop in charming Leysin. Here you check into your hotel. Day 2 is at leisure.
It is Christmas Eve today, and you travel by rail through spectacular countryside as you pay a visit to glamorous Montreux on the shores of the glimmering Lake Geneva. Spend time here exploring the winding streets and possibly visiting the magnificent Chillon Castle. Around Christmas, Montreux is lit up in a fantastic display of festive cheer, and the Christmas market is laid out along the lakeside promenade.
Your Christmas Day is your own in idyllic Leysin. Perhaps venture out into town to share in the revelries before returning for your special Christmas dinner at the hotel.
Journey on the Mont Blanc Express, riding the length of this
scenic line across the French border to Chamonix today. Culminating
in the spectacular sight of glistening glaciers and the majestic
Mont Blanc, this is truly a holiday highlight.
Travel by rail today to the splendid Swiss resort of Zermatt. Sat under the shadow of the magnificent Matterhorn, this town is a delight to explore, and you have free time to soak in the views and soak up the wonderful atmosphere. Zermatt is a classic Swiss resort, settled in a stunning valley, with the presence of the Matterhorn, the jewel in the crown of the Swiss Alps.
Bid a fond farewell to the seasonal magic of Switzerland today as you travel by rail from Leysin to Aigle, and on to Geneva. From here, join the rail service to Paris and catch the Eurostar service to London.
