Days 1-2 – London & Leysin

Meet at London St Pancras, where you and your group board the Eurostar to Paris, continuing on to Lausanne and Aigle, before arriving in charming Leysin.

Day 2 is free. Perhaps, explore using your Swiss Card, which offers 50% off on trains.

Day 3 - Christmas Eve in Montreux

It is Christmas Eve today, and you travel by rail through spectacular countryside as you pay a visit to glamorous Montreux on the shores of the glimmering Lake Geneva. Spend time here exploring the winding streets.

At Christmas, Montreux is lit up in a fantastic display of festive cheer, and the Christmas market is laid out along the lakeside promenade. One of Switzerland's largest markets, there are almost 200 traditional chalets here selling delicious food and handcrafted gifts.

Day 4 - Christmas Day in Leysin

Christmas Day is spent at leisure in idyllic Leysin. Perhaps venture out into town to share in the revelries before returning for a special Christmas dinner at the hotel. Here among the mountains of the Swiss Alps, Christmas is even more special than normal, with the traditional chalets of Leysin lit up against the snowy peaks of the Alpine backdrop.

Day 5 - The Mont Blanc Express

Journey on the Mont Blanc Express, riding the length of this scenic line across the French border to Chamonix today. The train rushes past vineyards and meadows to the Rhône Valley, culminating in the spectacular sight of glistening glaciers and the majestic Mont Blanc. After a steep ascent, it reaches the picturesque town of Chamonix, where you have some free time to explore before your return journey.

A classic Alpine resort, from here you can enjoy a glorious mountain panorama that takes in Mont Blanc, the tallest mountain in the Alps.

Day 6 - Discovering Zermatt

Travel by rail today to the splendid Swiss resort of Zermatt. Sat under the shadow of the magnificent Matterhorn, this town is a delight to explore, and you have free time to soak in the views and soak up the wonderful atmosphere. Zermatt is a classic Swiss resort, settled in a stunning valley, with the presence of the Matterhorn, the jewel in the crown of the Swiss Alps.

Day 7 - Home

Bid a fond farewell to the seasonal magic of Switzerland today as you travel by rail from Leysin to Aigle, and on to Geneva. From here, join the rail service to Paris and catch the Eurostar service to London.
