Experience the beautiful Black Forest from the popular resort of lakeside Titisee, set amidst lush green meadows and pine-clad hills. A boat cruise and steam train journey through scented woodlands make for a wonderful holiday.
Take the Eurostar to Paris, where you continue to Strasbourg. From here, you transfer by coach to Lake Titisee, and the Maritim Hotel. Located in the south of the Black Forest, popular Lake Titisee is an ancient European lake formed by the Feldberg Glacier.
Today you take a coach tour into the heart of the Black Forest. Pay a visit to a cuckoo clock maker, then continue to the town of Triberg im Schwarzwald, where you view the natural spectacle of one of Germany's highest waterfalls. You have some time for lunch in Triberg, before boarding the Hollentalbahn Railway for a journey through some truly breathtaking scenery.
You travel by rail to Schluchsee, a pretty town set on the lake of the same name. Here you enjoy a cruise around the unspoilt shoreline, passing forested beaches and picturesque mountain foothills, before free time to explore the authentic lakeside town.
Take a coach to Blumberg, where you have some free time. Perhaps visit the small railway museum, before joining the Sauschwänzlebahn Steam Railway for a journey to Weizen. From here you continue by coach to St Blasien, a small village famous for its church.
Today you take a train to Freiburg, a pretty city at the edge of the Black Forest. You are free to explore Freiburg's main sights, including the Minster of Our Lady, a red sandstone Gothic cathedral.
Today is at leisure to explore, and is a great opportunity to use your Hochschwarzwald Card for reduced train fares in the surrounding area, and reduced ticket prices to some local attractions.
Today, transfer to Strasbourg for the train to Paris. Board the Eurostar to London St Pancras, where your tour concludes.
