Relax by the shores of beautiful Lake Como on this scenic holiday. Cruise to delightful lakeside towns, discover Milan and experience the Swiss Alps on board the Bernina Express.


What’s included


Day 1 - London & Turin

Meet at our St Pancras Departure Office and take the Eurostar to Paris. In Paris, change trains and continue to the historic city of Turin for a night in a local hotel.

Day 2 - Cadenabbia

Enjoy a free morning to wander through the handsome city of Turin, discovering its historic buildings and charming streets. This afternoon, you transfer to Cadenabbia and check into your hotel for the next seven nights.

Day 3 - Bellagio & Villa Carlotta

Travel by boat to picturesque Bellagio today, an attractive village known as the 'Pearl of the Lake'. There's free time here to explore the old-world streets, winding away from the main square. Another highlight is the Basilica di San Giacomo, the town's Romanesque church. Later, you sail to back to Tremezzo for a visit to Villa Carlotta. The 17th-century villa once belonged to Prussian royalty but now houses many masterpieces of Italian art, whilst the colourful gardens feature plantings of rhododendrons, azaleas, and camellias. There are also more exotic plants, including bamboos, ferns, and ancient cedar and sequoia trees to admire.

Day 4 - Cadenabbia

Enjoy a free day to get relax at your hotel or head out and explore Cadenabbia. If you'd like to explore further afield, one great option is to explore the delightful lakeside towns by local ferry. You could cruise to the southern end of Lake Como and visit bustling Como town itself. Alternatively, just along the western shore is the village of Lenno. Here you'll find striking Villa Balbianello, one of Italy's most beautiful villas and a delight to explore.

Day 5 - Milan

Visit Milan by coach today where you enjoy a guided tour of the famously stylish city. See the magnificent Duomo, which dominates the skyline, the Teatro alla Scala Opera house, and the impressive glass roof of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele. Named after the first king of Italy, the Galleria is one of the world's oldest shopping malls. Following the tour, you are free to continue exploring; perhaps visit the Renaissance Castello Sforzesco, complete with stunning frescoes by Leonardo da Vinci. Once a Visconti fortress, it's now home to seven specialised museums displaying some of Milan's fascinating history.

Day 6 - Cadenabbia

Enjoy another day to relax or explore at your own pace. There's plenty of fantastic Italian villas found in this area that you could see, including Villa La Carlia, with its symmetrical terraces and Italian-style geometric flower beds, as well as the nearby Villa La Quiete, which was built at the beginning of the 18th century. Otherwise, you could head to a pavement café or restaurant and sample some authentic Italian cuisine in the sunshine, or maybe visit a gelateria for a delicious ice cream.

Day 7 - The Bernina Express

Journey on the Bernina Express from Tirano to St Moritz. The line is celebrated not only for its beauty, but also the feats of engineering undertaken to complete it, which have earned it UNESCO World Heritage status. The train loops and spirals, passing mighty glaciers, rushing mountain streams, and flower-filled Alpine meadows. As you cross viaducts and climb over the Bernina Pass, the train affords astonishing views. You cross the Swiss border and arrive in the chic town of St Moritz, where you have some free time. World-renowned as a prestigious ski resort, there's plenty to see during your time in St Moritz, including glitzy boutique shops and enticing cocktail bars. Return to Cadenabbia by coach.

Day 8 - Cadenabbia

Today is free. Perhaps visit nearby Tremezzo, just a short walk away. Or, you could relax in Cadenabbia itself, taking in the beautiful lakeside views from the comfort of your hotel.

Day 9 - Mulhouse

Bidding farewell to the sparkling shores of Lake Como, you transfer to the town of Como this morning and join the train to Mulhouse. You spend the night here in a local hotel.

Day 10 - London

Continue your journey home today, leaving Mulhouse and catching the train to Paris. On arrival, connect with the Eurostar service back to London St Pancras.

We enjoyed the full experience from meeting Lyne at St Pacress to leaving her at same place, I think she made the holiday for us The euro star to Paris was comfortable and interesting. Then the trek through Paris went well. The Hotels both going and on return were first class. The organisation on our travels went well, the down side was rushing to get on and off trains with only 4 minutes with luggage, in furture may get the luggage package to save us the hassle
